This is a letter taken from a private blog of mine – at this time there were very few people who knew we were expecting due to it being early days, yet I still wanted an outlet somewhere on the web (I’m not brilliant at keeping paper journals). Now that everyone is aware we’ve got a little one on the way, I’m moving these posts over here.
Dear Pickle,
What was I saying on Wednesday about how I hadn’t had a great deal of morning sickness?
Well my dear, you certainly have a sense of humour! I went into Asda that morning to buy some more CB Digital tests (paranoid, me?!) and after seeing the nice “3+ weeks” come up in the window (right where I should be!) I set off for work feeling very happy indeed.
As soon as I had turned the corner onto Bude Road, the biggest wave of sickness you can imagine came over me. I was laughing to myself at the timing, and at the same time thanking Heavenly Father that all is still going well in there! I tell you – I wasn’t laughing by the end of the day!
Thursday wasn’t much better – it was my first case of *real* morning sickness – actually feeling sick when I awoke in the morning! Can you believe I was excited for this??! Mummy must be crazy – I must have forgotten how I felt Wednesday night!
Yesterday, Daddy decided he would do something nice for me and he picked me up from work and took me to Chiquitos for a meal. On the way there I started feeling more and more sick (after not being too bad throughout the day!) and then when we got there I ran straight to the bathroom and was horribly sick.
Today I’ve not been feeling too bad, but I’ve learned my lesson. Never again will I say, “I’ve not had so much ______” … Cause I know you have a strange sense of humour, little one!!
